Description
This course is an 80 hour course that teaches participants about theory, principles, and skills necessary to provide patient-centered care as a nursing assistant in healthcare settings. Topics include infection control, taking vital signs, and delivering personal care. Topics may include communication skills and patients’ rights, scope of practice and reporting and legal and ethical issues. This course is followed up with direct clinical care. Upon completion, the student is eligible to take the state competency examination for certification as a nursing assistant.
